HRM Pension Plan – Acting Chief Executive Officer Announcement
With the upcoming retirement of our current CEO, Rob Ritchie, it is with pleasure that we announce the appointment of Paula Boyd as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the HRM Pension Plan effective January 1, 2023.
Paula is a proud Haligonian and has spent the last 25 years living in Nova Scotia and immersed in the pension world in varied capacities. She has spent a significant part of her career working as an actuarial technician and consulting actuary for two large pension and benefits consulting firms. From 2016 to 2019, she was involved in pension regulation and oversight, holding the position of Nova Scotia Superintendent of Pensions and participating as a member of the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA). Paula has also been a Director of the Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Trustee Inc. since 2017. For the last two plus years Paula has been involved with our pension plan, as our Chief Pension Officer, focusing on high-level long-term planning and risk management of the pension plan.
We are excited for the future of the Plan and while we will miss Rob greatly, we are looking forward to Paula’s insights and contributions. Our pension plan is in great hands. Please join us in thanking Rob for his hard work and dedication and welcoming Paula into her new role as Acting CEO.
